Program 5: Python

Here is your final coding assignment, due December 4th by end of day.

Goal:

You will be implementing a query interface for a database of World Series results using Python. Your code should read the search data from a form, retrieve the data from a mysql database and output the results of the search into an html formatted table. (Hint: You can use Python's CGI library for the form handling.)

We have provided the html source of a simple search form and the SQL code for creating the table in MySQL. The database table is structured as follows:
    Year (Primary Key)
    Winning Team
    Winning Manager
    League of Winning Team
    Games
    Losing Team
    Losing Manager

Resources:

Grading:
  • 10% Good turnin
  • form handling
  • database connection
  • correct output

Deliverables:
    • Python source file(s)
    • Readme with any references

Re: Amazon Web Services Free for 12 Months Information

Thanks! Folks in case you need server time: Amazon detail from Thomas. Free for one year.

Google cloud free for two months I believe.

For client side, github is free indefinitely.

    Best, Ben

    Hello Dr. Watson,

Turns out I was wrong, it expires at 12 months but you can find the information here:

Gives you a xeon processor with a gig of ram. You get 750 hours of windows and 750 hours of Linux each month, so technically you can have two servers if they are different OS's.

    Thanks,

    Thomas Boop.

    Come to the nexUX Meetup!

With Mike Capps, strategic advisor to the entertainment industry

A fireside chat with the semi-retired games industry executive

In this fireside chat, we'll all have the chance to ask a prominent figure in the gaming industry questions about his experience, his methods, and anything else you could want to know. Please send us your questions in advance, or bring them to the event!

After a decade running Epic Games, Mike Capps now serves as a strategic advisor for a few interesting and quite varied companies such as Unity, Sphero, and Remedy Entertainment. He also takes on occasional lecturing engagements on topics ranging from leading creative teams to business productivity. He enjoys working with teams that help him learn, are made up of kind people, and have a mission that will make a positive impact upon society.

As always with our meetups, this is not a "sit back and listen" meeting, but a chance for us to bring together a cross disciplinary group of people to think about the relationship between UX and entertainment. Mostly though, we'll get to know one another, and have some fun.

RSVP and send your questions in advance using the buttons below.

Also, please forward this email to whomever you think might be interested!
